According to the loudspeaker frequency classification of the loudspeaker, it is divided into full-range loudspeaker, tweeter, mid-range loudspeaker, woofer and subwoofer.
1. Full-range speaker:
Full-range speakers are also called broadband speakers. Earlier, speakers that can cover the frequency range of 200 to 10,000 Hz are called full-frequency speakers. In recent years, full-range speakers have been able to cover frequencies from 50 to 25000 Hz. The low frequency of some speakers can go down to 30Hz. Unfortunately, the current full-range speakers on the market, although they are full-range, in fact, most of their frequencies are concentrated in the mid-range range, and the expressive power of the heavy bass and treble is slightly weaker, so the sound you hear is relatively low. The flat and three-dimensional sense is not so strong.
2. Tweeter:
The tweeter is the tweeter unit in the speaker, and its function is to reproduce the high-frequency signal (the frequency range is generally 5KHz-10KHz) output from the crossover.
Because the main function of the tweeter is to express the fineness of the sound, the installation position of the tweeter is very particular. If the installation location is unscientific when refitting the car audio, the sound field effect will be unsatisfactory. The tweeter should be installed as flat as the human ear, such as on the A-pillar of the car, or above the dashboard, and some models are located on the door, so that the sound field is basically equal to the human ear, and the car owner can also appreciate the music. Brings the charm.
3. Mid-range speaker:
The frequency response range of the midrange speaker is between 256-2048Hz. Among them, 256-512HZ listening feels powerful; 512-1024HZ listening feels bright; 1024-2048HZ listening feels translucent.
The main performance characteristics of the midrange speaker are the realistic reproduction of the human voice, the clean and powerful tone, and the strong rhythm.
4. Woofer:
The frequency response range of the woofer is 16-256Hz. Among them, 16-64HZ listening feels deep and shocking; 64-128HZ listening feels deep, 128-256HZ listening feels full.
The main characteristic of the woofer is that it has a strong sense of shock, majestic and powerful, plump and deep.
5. Subwoofer:
Subwoofer refers to a speaker that can emit 20-200HZ low-frequency sound. Usually, when the energy is not very strong, it is difficult for people to hear the subwoofer, and it is difficult to distinguish the sound source direction. In principle, the working mode of the subwoofer and the speaker is exactly the same, but the diameter of the diaphragm is larger, and the speaker for resonance is added, so the bass that people hear will feel very shocking.
It can be seen that the classification of speakers is not determined by the size of the sound emitted by the speaker and its original size, but by the frequency it emits. And the speakers of each frequency band have different performance characteristics, we can choose the sound we want according to our own likes and hobbies.
Then the two-way frequency that we see when we choose the speaker is generally the tweeter and the woofer, while the three-way frequency is the tweeter, mid-range speaker and woofer.
The above content allows us to have a cognitive concept of horns when refitting car audio, and have a preliminary understanding of refitting audio. A complete sound system requires not only speakers that can emit each unit. The tuner is also very important. This is related to whether each unit speaker can play its own characteristics perfectly. Therefore, it is very important to choose a professional audio modification shop.
